Directions to NY 8

near Canada Creek

Warrensburg via the Northway I-87, Exit 23

Go up the Northway, I-87 to Exit 23 on top of the mountain from Lake George. (US Route 9) Take US 9 north, a right turn, through Warrensburg all the way to NY Route 28 at the junction two miles north of Warrensburg. Take a left turn on NY 28, north-west, over the upper Hudson River and follow NY 28 to the junction of 8 in Wevertown.

NY 8 to Chestertown or Brant Lake via the Northway, I-87, Exit 25

Go up the Northway, I-87 to Exit 25 and get off of I-87 the Hague/Chestertown/Brant Lake exit. This will put you directly on NY 8.

From Lake George & Ticonderoga to Hague on NY 9N

You can get to the eastern end of Route 8 at Hague on Lake George Lake from either Lake George Village from the south or Ticonderoga from the north. However, NY 9N is very crowded near Lake George Village in season. So I recommend going up the Northway, I-87 to Exit 24, then going downhill to Bolton Landing and turning left on 9N there. You can also go south on NY 9N from Ticonderoga and other Lake Champlain towns like Crown Point or Westport. The junction of NY 8 is only 10 mile south on 9N from Ticonderoga.

Western NY, Midwest

Get off the NYS Thruway, I-90, at Exit 31, Utica. Get on NY Route 8 & 12 North and follow the 4 lane superhighway north up the hill out of the Mohawk Valley. Keep on 8 after NY 8 cuts off of NY 12 and follow NY 8 east towards Poland and Russia.
